FORAGE AID

Founded by Andrew Ward in 2013 in response to the terrible snow that affected livestock farmers in forageaidlogoEngland and Wales.

In 2014 the Somerset Levels suffered the worst flooding in a generation that resulted in 1000 cattle being evacuated and 1000s of acres of pastureland being ruined. James and Jenny Winslade evacuated 550 of their own cattle from certain drowning, then along with Rebecca Horsington set about the task of sourcing forage and bedding for them, as well as the other evacuated livestock. Ed Ford saw their plight on the news and galvanised Essex Young Farmers into sending load after load of fodder and bedding to Somerset.
