Light Horse Classes for August 16th 2012
           Closing date - July 6th 2012

We are happy to announce new classes in the light horse section this year.  These will be for Sport Horses, and includes an in-hand class for youngstock and ridden for four year old horses and over. These classes are for young athletic horses that have the conformation and movement to go to the top of their sphere. All horses must exceed 148 cms.

With approaching 1,000 horses of all shapes, sizes and colours, the Light Horse section is almost a Show within the Show. Hunters for riding, breeding and working show alongside Arabs - pure bred, anglo and part-bred. There is also Mountain and Moorland classes within the Working Hunter Ponies Section.  Children from 3 years old upwards show their exceptional horsemanship with well schooled Riding Ponies. The Welsh breeds - section A, B C and the magnificent section D Cobs show off to appreciative onlookers.

2006 saw the introduction of a brand new award - The Sangwyn Stud Perpetual Trophy plus £100 in prize money to the Welsh Section Champion of Champions!  This is an exciting finale to this much supported sector of the Light Horse section.

If Carriage Driving is more to your taste, step back to a bygone era of grace and elegance, and wander across to the Clwyd Ring to see the Private Driving classes being judged, or, wait a little longer, and watch them turn around for the Concorce D'Elegance judging - which one presents the most elegant effect and might make a good picture. Delightful, charming and highly skilled.
